Lead Developer (onsite)

Define and lead the strategic architecture and implementation of a Snowflake-based data platform, guiding the transition from legacy Oracle PL/SQL systems to modern cloud-based data solutions. This role is responsible for establishing governance, security, and development standards while ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business objectives. The Sr/Lead Developer will collaborate closely with stakeholders to drive data migration efforts, resolve critical issues, and ensure seamless delivery. Additionally, this position plays a key role in leading technical teams and ensuring high-quality execution across all phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement target Snowflake architecture, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers


• Lead migration strategy from Oracle PL/SQL to Snowflake's columnar SQL approach


• Establish and enforce dbt project standards, including macros, materialization strategies, and CI/CD pipelines


• Implement and manage Snowflake security using Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)


• Coordinate onsite with cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment


• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and validate data availability with business users


• Translate technical gaps into business impact and communicate effectively with stakeholders


• Serve as primary escalation point for critical migration issues and data discrepancies


• Own and execute cutover planning, including final data synchronization during production deployment


• Lead and manage offshore development teams, ensuring delivery quality and timelines

Qualifications
Required:

• Extensive experience with Snowflake data platform architecture and implementation


• Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and data migration strategies


• Proven experience with dbt, including macros, materializations, and CI/CD integration


• Deep understanding of data security and RBAC implementation


• Experience leading large-scale data migration or transformation initiatives


• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills


• Experience leading distributed or offshore teams

Preferred (Optional):

• Experience with enterprise data warehouse modernization projects


• Familiarity with cloud-based data ecosystems and best practices


• Experience with large-scale UAT coordination and execution


• Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure production environments

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $82.92 - $92.92 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
