BI Analyst

This role focuses on KPI and SLA design, operational reporting, business analysis, and Excel-driven modeling rather than heavy data engineering. The BI Analyst will collaborate closely with operational and business leaders to define meaningful metrics, monitor service levels, and deliver timely, actionable insights. The position supports performance improvement across multiple operational domains through reporting, analysis, and effective communication. Location: New York City Work Type: RemoteKey ResponsibilitiesLead the definition, documentation, and lifecycle management of KPIs and SLAs that align with business objectives.Translate business goals into measurable indicators used across operational teams.Design, maintain, and distribute recurring reports and executive scorecards tracking performance against KPIs and SLAs.Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business leaders; monitor and interpret KPI trends.Perform root-cause and trend analyses to identify opportunities, risks, and performance gaps.Produce concise recommendations to guide operational decision-making.Build robust Excel models, pivot-driven analyses, and automated reporting templates using advanced functions or macros where appropriate.Execute simple SQL queries or data extracts to support analysis; collaborate with data teams for complex needs.Partner with operations, account teams, and leadership to ensure metrics are understood, actionable, and widely adopted.Validate incoming data, document metric definitions and data sources, and escalate discrepancies as needed.Synthesize insights into clear presentations and summaries for non-technical audiences.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.3-5 years of experience in a data or business analyst role with emphasis on KPI/SLA work, operational reporting, and Excel-based analysis.Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, array formulas, and basic macros.Experience with Datadog, Power BI, or Tableau for dashboards and scorecards.Basic SQL knowledge for writing simple select and filter queries.Strong problem-solving and quantitative reasoning abilities.Ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple reporting streams and meet deadlines.Preferred (Optional):Experience in media, entertainment, or technology operations.Familiarity with formal SLA frameworks and operational performance management.Experience documenting metric dictionaries, runbooks, or measurement playbooks.Experience collaborating with business teams to operationalize KPIs and drive continuous improvement.BenefitsMedical coverage and Health Savings Account (HSA) through Anthem Dental/Vision/Various Ancillary coverages through Unum 401(k) retirement savings plan Paid-time-off options Company-paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Discount programs through ADP WorkforceNow Additional Details The base range for this contract position is $38 - $48 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
