GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

At Stancil Services, growth begins with relationships — and relationships begin with trust. The Business Development Manager drives the expansion of Stancil’s residential and custom-home business by identifying new opportunities, cultivating builder partnerships, and leading sales initiatives across all divisions.

This position plays a key role in increasing market share, enhancing client experience, and promoting Stancil’s reputation for reliability, integrity, and craftsmanship. Success requires a balance of strategic vision, consultative selling, and collaboration with teams across estimating, operations, and field management.

Essential Job Functions

  • Sales Leadership & Client Development
    • Own the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract close and operational handoff.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for new residential and custom-builder clients.
    • Build long-term, trust-based relationships at all levels of client organizations.
    • Call on production and custom builders regularly to maintain and grow account relationships.
    • Resolve client issues promptly and professionally, reinforcing confidence in Stancil.
    • Identify new builder accounts and market opportunities to expand territory reach.
    • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy in partnership with the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Strategic Communication & Collaboration
    • Communicate pipeline status, progress, and revenue projections proactively.
    • Partner with estimating, operations, and field teams to align expectations and ensure seamless handoffs.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation within the CRM platform to track opportunities, activities, and forecasts.
    • Monitor competitors, pricing structures, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities.
    • Educate clients on Stancil’s processes, capabilities, and competitive differentiators.
    • Facilitate cross-functional communication between estimating, field, and billing teams to support cohesive service delivery and issue resolution.
    • Attend builder associations, networking functions, and community events to represent Stancil and strengthen relationships.
  • Performance & Growth Delivery
    • Achieve or exceed goals for revenue growth, new business acquisition, and gross profit.
    • Support the development of new marketing strategies and outreach initiatives as directed.
    • Provide insights on client satisfaction, market conditions, and product positioning.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of account management, sales, or business-development experience.
  • Residential construction industry experience highly preferred.
  • Sage and CRM-system experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

  • Meet or exceed revenue, gross-profit, and new-client development targets.
  • Demonstrate consistent, professional, and effective communication with clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and report pipeline activity regularly.
  • Analyze business results using financial and performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations to ensure alignment and client satisfaction.
  • Take initiative and maintain ownership of responsibilities with minimal oversight.
  • Embrace change and adapt quickly in a growth-focused environment.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the field and community to build visibility and strengthen relationships.
  • Actively pursue continuing education through builder associations and professional training.
  • Represent Stancil with integrity, teamwork, and professionalism at all times.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

  • Primarily an office-based position requiring extended periods of computer and desk work.
  • Regular local travel to builder offices, job sites, and industry events.
  • Requires ability to sit, stand, and move between indoor and field environments throughout the day.
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials up to 15 pounds.
  • Regularly operate computers, mobile devices, and presentation equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability under company policy required.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

  • Computer, smartphone, CRM platforms, forecasting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and presentation tools (experience with Procore, Buildertrend, or similar platforms preferred).
