Stanbridge University is seeking dedicated Adjunct Vocational Nursing (VN) Faculty to educate and mentor the next generation of vocational nurses. This evergreen opportunity supports ongoing and future instructional needs across all campus locations and specialty areas within the Vocational Nursing program.
We are actively recruiting faculty with recent clinical experience in Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics (Maternal–Newborn Nursing), Pediatrics, and Mental Health / Psychiatric Nursing. Teaching assignments are aligned with clinical expertise, program needs, and faculty availability across our campuses.
Adjunct faculty play a vital role in student success by delivering high-quality instruction in the classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical setting. Through theory, hands-on skills development, and supervised clinical practice, faculty prepare students for safe, competent, and compassionate entry-level nursing practice.

High-Need Instructional Areas:- Vocational Nursing Fundamentals
- Medical-Surgical Nursing

- Mental Health / Psychiatric Nursing
- All specialty areas require a minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in the applicable content area within the past five (5) years
- Clinical experience must be documented and verifiable in accordance with institutional, regulatory, and accreditation standards
- Deliver clinical and/or theory instruction using approved course materials
- Develop instructional strategies that engage students and promote clinical judgment
- Evaluate student competency using established clinical and academic standards
- Facilitate the integration of theory into clinical practice
- Ensure patient safety and compliance with clinical agency and university policies
- Lead pre- and post-clinical conferences to reinforce learning
- Engage students in reflective practice and critical thinking
- Foster a professional learning environment that promotes accountability, integrity, and collaboration
- Support student success through active engagement and instructional flexibility
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student grades, attendance, and performance
- Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice and instructional content
- Participate in department meetings and shared governance activities as required
- Current, active California Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license required
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years
- Minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience within the past five (5) years
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required
- Previous teaching or precepting experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- ATI and CourseKey experience preferred
- Up-to-date immunization records required

- $40.00–$50.00 per hour
- Compensation is based on education, experience, specialty expertise, and internal equity considerations
- Instruction may occur in classrooms, skills laboratories, acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, and other approved clinical sites
- Faculty who are comfortable teaching across classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical environments are strongly preferred
- Candidates with experience in at least two (2) of the three instructional settings (theory, skills lab, or clinical) will be considered
