CDL Driver

Stan Houston Equipment Company has a new opportunity for you!

Do you enjoy driving for work, but want to be home in the evenings and on weekends? Do you like working independently, experiencing different environments, and meeting new people?

We are seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time CDL Driver to join the team at our Omaha location.

Work hours are Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Safely and efficiently operate a commercial vehicle, such as a tractor-trailer, straight truck, or other designated vehicle, to transport products or equipment to specified destinations
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
• Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after each trip to ensure the proper functioning of the vehicle's mechanical, electrical, and safety systems and promptly report any mechanical issues or repairs needed
• Secure products and equipment using appropriate methods, such as straps, chains, or tarps, in order to prevent damage during transportation
• Maintain accurate records of all trips, including trip logs, fuel consumption, and any incidents or violations
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise
• Provide excellent customer service by delivering products and equipment in a timely and professional manner, addressing customer inquiries or concerns, and representing the company in a positive manner
• Assist in rental department and yard as needed

Here’s what will get you noticed:

• Clean driving record with no history of major violations, accidents, or DUI convictions
• Proven experience as a CDL Driver, preferably in a similar industry or with comparable equipment
• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
• Ability to read and interpret maps, GPS systems, and other navigational tools
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting is a plus

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Valid Class A CDL driver’s license
• Previous experience with construction tools and equipment preferred

Physical Capabilities Required:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time
• Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying heavy products and equipment as required
• Ability to maintain a current medical card
• Adequate vision to read addresses, signs, and other important information while driving and delivering products and equipment

Current Omaha store hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am-5:00pm.
