- Read and analyze script for set requirements for each production.
- Work with the Director and Advisor to design the set of the play/musical to accommodate the SHS stage and space.
- Engineer all building projects.
- Create building plans and drafting.
- Create a building schedule.
- Order all materials; wood, paint, hardware, etc.
- Build or acquire all set pieces with students.
- Scenic painting of all set pieces.
- Design and produce all set detailing and dressing.
- Supervise safety throughout building process and safe construction standards for all set pieces, ex 16” on center walls and sufficient ceiling joist for load.
- Inventory and maintain all equipment.
- Organize storage of all building materials and supplies.
- Strike the set and clean backstage once the production closes.
- Organize storage of set pieces to be kept.
- Train and organize the backstage crew.
