Overview
We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Foreman to lead and oversee asphalt construction projects from start to finish. We currently have a highly experienced Superintendent that you will work under, and a crew of asphalt labor and machine operators. You will help facilitate setting up for jobs, work on job sites, operate the paver, oversee a crew of labor and machine operators to complete the asphalt jobs, operate a skid steer, and more. You will additionally help our superintendent from time to time in coordinating trucking, material delivery, and completion of the jobs from start to finish.
Will provide a dedicated company truck.
We are a small privately owned paving company. We perform any type of asphalt work from small patches, to sealcoating, to large mill and pave jobs.
This role is vital in ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction management, excellent supervisory skills, and a thorough understanding of asphalt paving processes. You will coordinate crews, manage resources, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise asphalt construction crews, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project schedules
- Coordinate daily operations on-site, including material delivery, equipment usage, and workforce management
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate execution of paving projects
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify that work meets specifications, safety standards (OSHA), and client expectations
- Oversee safety protocols on-site by enforcing OSHA regulations and conducting regular safety meetings
Qualifications
- Proven experience in asphalt paving or heavy civil construction with a minimum of several years in supervisory roles
- Must have at least 3 years experience running an asphalt Paving Machine - we have a Weiller P285
- Must have at least 1 year experience operating a skid steer
- Must have prior experience managing an asphalt crew
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately
- Hands-on experience with construction site operations including equipment troubleshooting with tools like ohmmeters and pipeline assessments
- Excellent project scheduling skills combined with management experience overseeing multiple crews or projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with contracts, budgeting processes, quality control procedures, and safety regulations (OSHA)
- Supervising experience in a fast-paced environment with a focus on construction estimating and managing project timelines
