Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable
Location: Fully remote
Employment Type: Full-Time hourly position
Salary: $25/hr.
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable to join our team full time.
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable is responsible for performing day-to-day financial transactions related to vendor payments and associated reporting. This position ensures accurate and timely disbursements in accordance with internal controls, purchasing policies and regulatory requirements. The staff accountant will work closely with the Senior Accountant and Controller to support overall financial operations and internal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Management
- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs including ACH, checks, and wires.
- Maintain W-9 records and assist with annual 1099 reporting.
- Ensure adherence to internal approvals and purchasing policies.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date AP files and documentation.
Accounting Support & Compliance
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.
- Support audits and compliance reviews by preparing and submitting required documentation.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations tied to accounts payable.
- Assist with system and process improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Romanian is a strong advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, hourly position.
- Fully remote work environment.
- May require occasional overtime during peak accounting periods such as month-end and year-end.
- We offer a starting wage of $25/hr.
