Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Assistant Technician to help maintain a safe working environment for all plant employees and visitors. This role supports the Safety Manager and ensures safety remains our top priority.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair safety equipment (guards, handrails, signs).
- Inspect and test fire extinguishers and maintain safety documentation.
- Assist with site-specific safety training and lead plant tours for new hires.
- Perform ground resistance checks on electrical devices.
- Observe operations to identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Conduct housekeeping tasks to reduce hazards.
- Support the Safety Manager as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or knowledge in manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Welding and fabrication skills with at least 2 years of experience is preferred.
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, MSHA training, or EPA certification are highly desirable.
- Strong math skills and problem-solving ability.
Shift Hours
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Overtime and on-call duties may be required as needed.
