What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Restoration Technician position at Staley Restoration?
About Us
Staley Restoration is a small, owner-operated restoration company serving Central and South Central Tennessee.
We handle water damage mitigation and restoration, mold remediation, roofing, and full reconstruction.
There's no franchise above us, no regional manager approving your decisions, and no corporate script to follow.
Carson Staley owns the company, holds IICRC certifications in WRT, ASD, AMRT, HST, CCT, and RRT, and handles
the business side — sales, estimating, and client acquisition. That means the person we hire for this role owns
the field. That's not a tagline. That's the actual job.
The Role
We're hiring a Lead Restoration Technician who can run a job from first call to final documentation — independently.
You show up, assess the loss, make the drying plan, manage the homeowner, document it correctly, and close it out.
Carson isn't going to be on-site walking you through it. You need to already know how to do this.
If you've spent the last 3–5 years as a lead or senior tech at Servpro, ServiceMaster, BMS CAT, or a similar operation
and you're tired of being underpaid while someone else takes credit for your work, this is worth your attention.
What You'll Do
- Open water loss and mold remediation jobs: assess, scope, and set up all equipment — by yourself
- Perform demolition as required: remove wet flooring, drywall, cabinets, insulation — whatever the loss demands
- Make drying decisions and adjust daily based on documentation and moisture readings
- Manage the homeowner relationship on-site — communicate clearly, professionally, and with authority
- Document jobs accurately for insurance: moisture readings, photos, drying logs, equipment placement
- Operate and maintain extraction equipment, drying systems, and air scrubbers
- Close jobs cleanly: final readings, documentation, equipment pull, customer sign-off
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency losses
- Work with Carson on job handoffs, scopes, and progress updates
What We're Looking For
- **3–5 years of hands-on restoration experience** — water mitigation minimum, mold remediation a strong plus
- **IICRC WRT and ASD certifications preferred** — not required, but will affect starting pay. AMRT is a strong plus.
- Ability to run a job site without supervision from Day 1
- Comfortable performing demolition and physical labor solo — flooring, drywall, wet materials — when the job calls for it
- Strong documentation skills — you understand why it matters for insurance, not just as paperwork
- Professional communication with homeowners under stress
- Clean driving record — company vehicle provided
- Someone who takes ownership of their work and doesn't need to be managed
What We Offer
- **$20–$28/hr** depending on experience and certifications — candidates with WRT/ASD start higher, uncertified candidates with strong experience are still considered and can earn certifications on the job
- Company vehicle
- Direct working relationship with the owner — no layers, no politics
- Real autonomy on the job site — you make the calls
- Small company where your work is visible and your reputation is built on what you do, not who you know
Growth Path
This is the ground floor of something being built intentionally. As Staley Restoration grows,
Carson will bring on entry-level techs — and this person becomes the Crew Lead / Field Supervisor over those hires.
That means more authority, more pay, and a defined role as the senior field presence in a growing company.
This isn't vague "room to grow." It's a specific path that depends on you performing well and the company scaling —
both of which we intend to do.
How to Apply
Call or text **931-797-9401**, or email **hello@staleyrestoration.com**. Tell us where you've worked, how long
you've been in restoration, and what certifications you hold. No resume required to start the conversation.
