- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's safety strategy aligned with business goals, ensuring safety is integrated into all aspects of operations and decision-making processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards applicable to the industrial service industry.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate safety risks associated with company operations, including transportation, locating, and corporate activities.
- Safety Culture Development: Champion a proactive safety culture through effective leadership, communication, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Program Development and Implementation: Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Incident Investigation and Analysis: Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety violations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor safety performance, analyze trends, and report findings to senior management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and HR, as well as external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies and industry associations.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the safety department budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support safety initiatives and priorities.
- Bachelor�s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Master�s degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or similar credentials are highly desirable.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in safety management roles within the industrial service sector, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement.
- Expert knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to the industrial service industry (e.g., DOT, OSHA, etc.).
- Experience in a high growth geographically diverse service company
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex safety issues and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, sometimes under pressure, while maintaining a focus on safety excellence.
