Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to fabricate precision sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, SolidWorks drawings reading, and quality inspection to ensure products meet specifications. The Press Brake Operator will play a critical role in delivering high-quality fabricated parts efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend sheet metal according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately
- Adjust machine settings for precise bending angles and dimensions using tooling and calibration tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press brake equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications using quality inspection tools
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to ensure seamless production flow
- Utilize hand tools, CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, electrical discharge machining, and other machining equipment as needed
- Operate forklifts or cranes when necessary for material handling and loading/unloading raw materials or finished products
Experience
- Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding, and fabrication processes is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings (GD&T)
- Familiarity with tooling setup and adjustment for sheet metal fabrication
- Experience with quality inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work with hand tools and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Prior experience in manufacturing or machining environments involving sheet metal fabrication is preferred
