Responsibilities
- Install commercial kitchen appliances such as ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, ventilation systems, and other specialized equipment according to schematics and technical specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on installed equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Repair mechanical components, electrical systems, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) units, and related equipment as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to facilitate accurate installation and repairs
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to coordinate installation schedules and ensure project requirements are met efficiently
- Perform quality inspections post-installation to verify safety compliance and operational standards
- Provide guidance and leadership to junior team members during complex installations or repairs
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or installer in commercial kitchen environments or related fields
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, and equipment maintenance
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams accurately
- Knowledge of construction practices relevant to installing large appliances and ventilation systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues quickly
- Leadership qualities with the ability to guide team members during projects
- Valid certifications in appliance repair, HVAC/R (if applicable), or related fields are preferred but not mandatory
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights or in confined spaces as required
