About the role:
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist in an exciting new opportunity to join our Global HR team. This position will be based in the New York City office. Working cross functionally, you will support the global team with a variety of HR responsibilities including onboarding, benefits, employee relations, policy development, and implementing HR programs. You are passionate about partnering with managers and internal teams to deliver programs and policies to drive a high performing and engaging employee experience!
Who you're:
- 5 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist with demonstrated knowledge and exposure to all facets of HR from Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Talent Development and Talent Retention
- Knowledge and experience with employee relations and labor laws
- Experience in planning, executing, and evaluating projects under HR such as onboarding, benefits, training, engagement, and diversity initiatives.
- Knowledge and experience with benefits and insurances at a global level; Canada and USA
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment - using project management concepts to deliver HR projects.
- Post-Secondary education and a degree/certificate in Human Resources Management is an asset.
- Strong people and leadership skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels, being people advisors for employees and managers.
- Ability to motivate, educate and empower others in a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Ability to execute and evaluate HR processes, policies and initiatives and constantly improve them.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a cross functional team.
- Strong organizational, leadership, research, and planning skills
- Detail oriented, including the ability to manage multiple tasks with an eye for detail.
- Responsible for dealing with confidential matters and employees’ data.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, being ethical in all matters.
- Passionate about learning and development, attending related conferences, webinars and events and keeping HR knowledge up to date, bringing innovative ideas and projects to improve global workforce.
What you will be doing
- Work in the entire day-to-day cycle of HR: hiring, HR interviews, onboarding, benefits, training, labor laws, payroll, performance reviews, exits, employee relations, promotions, engagement and culture, employee retention, HR software system, and others.
- Own the onboarding process - Manage outreach with upcoming new hires via pre-onboarding therefore being the first face for new hires.
- Conduct Orientation for all new employees on a global level.
- Lead Open Enrollment communication and supporting employees by being the point of contact with benefits questions and queries.
- Support team with payroll and benefits setup, introduction to talent tools and creation of accounts and office access.
- Own employee offboarding procedures including management of exits, termination of accounts, and collection of company assets.
- Contribute to employee relations and provide ongoing advice, support and resolution strategies on HR programs, policies etc. and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary or corrective actions.
- Provide advice to leadership and managers regarding clarification and interpretation of company policies and function as the point of contact on all policy-related matters.
- Ensure the effective execution of HR programs, processes, communications, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead Health and Safety training programs and support team with ISO compliance.
- Support team with Diversity initiatives on a global level.
- Maintain our HRIS system and employee data.
- Generate and track reports and data to help the HR director and team to make well-knowledgeable decisions in HR.
To comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target compensation for this role is $100,000 to $130,000 USD per year. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, qualifications, job performance, level of experience, location, and business needs.
