Position Summary
The Garden Center Lot Employee is responsible for maintaining the outdoor garden center area, assisting customers with product selection and loading, and ensuring plants, merchandise, and displays are organized, healthy, and visually appealing. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with locating products and loading plants, soil, mulch, and garden supplies into vehicles
- Water, care for, and maintain plants according to established guidelines
- Stock, organize, and merchandise garden center inventory
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of outdoor sales areas, walkways, and loading zones
- Unload deliveries and move products using carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment
- Set up and maintain seasonal displays and signage
- Monitor plant health and report damaged or distressed inventory
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service at all times
- Follow safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
- Previous retail, garden center, landscaping, or outdoor work experience preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and seasonal conditions
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Basic knowledge of plants and gardening products is a plus
- Excellent customer service and communication skills

Schedule
