Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and organized Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This position will support multiple attorneys across various practice areas. The ideal candidate is a strong multitasker with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents such as wills, trusts, divorce petitions, motions, discovery requests, and pleadings
- Assist in preparing criminal defense documentation and client case summaries
- Conduct legal research and summarize statutes, case law, and court procedures
- Maintain organized case files and track deadlines using Legal Practice Management Software (LPMS)
- File documents with local and state courts, both electronically and in person as needed
- Communicate with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel professionally and promptly
- Manage case calendars and assist attorneys in preparation for hearings, trials, and client meetings
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical guidelines and firm policies
- Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (required)
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in family law, estate planning, or criminal law
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Legal Practice Management Software (LPMS required)
- Familiarity with Texas court procedures and e-filing systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under deadlines
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
