Robotics AI Engineer

Responsibilities
- Lead and execute a U.S. Army SBIR Phase I project focused on Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models and bi-manual cobots.
- Develop and deploy VLA/VLM/LLM models on both cloud environments and embedded robotic platforms.
- Own the full technical stack and roadmap for a next-generation robotic AI platform.
- Build, integrate, and optimize software for UR5e robotic arms, end-effectors, and manipulation systems.
- Architect and maintain systems using ROS/ROS2, robotic middleware, and Universal Robots’ RTDE interface.
- Write high-quality, production-level code in C and Python with a rapid iteration mindset.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support military-grade and industrial-grade performance requirements.
- Work flexible or non-traditional hours to meet mission-critical development goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, robotics, engineering, or a related field with 5 years of hands-on experience.
- Strong programming expertise in C and Python.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and machine learning model implementation.
- Proficiency with ROS and ROS2 frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Universal Robots (UR5e), RTDE protocols, and manipulation systems.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality solutions quickly and independently.
