Job Description
- Install, configure, and maintain AWS environments following cloud best practices and security standards.
- Configure and manage IAM, KMS, and other AWS security parameters while implementing information assurance policies and reporting.
- 5 years of experience in system administration, including installation and maintenance of software and hardware infrastructure.
- Experience with AWS cloud services (Azure or GCP exposure preferred).
- Deploy, manage, and operate AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, and AWS Console root user administration.
- Administer and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux environments, including patching, security, upgrades, and user management.
- Work with Amazon EMR to manage large-scale data processing using Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.
- Configure EMR clusters, optimize performance/costs, ensure security and access control, and integrate with other AWS services.
- Design and tune RDS databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Aurora) including schema design, locking strategy, SQL optimization, and performance tuning.
- Lead administration and optimization of relational databases (AWS RDS/Redshift/Aurora) for availability, security, and performance.
- Enhance and optimize ETL pipelines for throughput, scalability, and maintainability.
- Implement monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for databases and cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure 100% uptime through proactive planning, coordination, and timely resolution of access/performance issues within SLAs.
- Conduct system performance analysis and proactively monitor memory, disk usage, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with project/development teams to troubleshoot infrastructure/application issues.
- Proficient with version control tools like Git and Bitbucket.
- Strong analytical, research, and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Work with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into highly available and scalable AWS solutions.
