What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Staffworks?
Custodian
Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 11:00pm
Pay rate: $16.00 per hour
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the building is properly cleaned daily and is left in a secure manner at the end of the day. Will work closely with the Custodian Coordinator to perform all tasks.
Essential duties:
Perform floor stripping, waxing and buffing as scheduled.
Clean offices, restrooms and hall daily as scheduled.
Supervise and assist building custodians where appropriate.
Maintain and order supplies as needed.
Secure building at the end of the workday.
Report all damages to building to immediate supervisor.
Coordinate and schedule inspections, etc. of building and cleaning procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of machines and cleaning chemicals used.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to manipulate furniture, equipment and supplies.
Ability to observe work in progress and inspect buildings to verify compliance with cleaning standards.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED – 1 year experience in the custodial field.
