What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Material Handler position at Staffworks?
The Finished Goods Material Handler is responsible for maintaining a fully stocked and organized finished goods picking area to support Shipping operations. This role ensures accurate inventory movement, timely replenishment of picking locations, proper handling of finished goods, and adherence to safety, inventory, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain a fully stocked finished goods inventory picking area for Shipping Order Pickers.
• Proactively replenish depleted pick locations to prevent shipping delays.
• Retrieve full pallets of inventory as requested by Shipping Order Pickers and the Group Leader.
• Assemble bulk sales orders as directed by the Supervisor or Group Leader.
• Assist with the wrapping and loading of pallets as needed.
• Put away finished goods inventory received from Production in a neat, safe, and organized manner.
• Retrieve and deliver finished goods inventory to the Material Conversion and Special Packaging departments as requested.
• Accurately record all inventory movements using an RF scanner.
• Assist Inventory Control personnel with physical inventory counts and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
• Report inventory discrepancies or concerns to Supervision promptly.
• Maintain accurate skid sheet allocation.
• Assist with general warehouse housekeeping using approved cleaning equipment.
• Work cooperatively with all warehouse, production, and shipping personnel.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
Qualifications
• Previous warehouse, material handling, or inventory experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately use RF scanning equipment.
• Basic understanding of inventory control practices preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Reliable, predictable attendance required.
• Experience or license in handling forklifts, pallets jacks and other warehouse equipment
• Able to read and write in English
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the work shift.
• Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, and handle materials safely throughout the shift.
Work Environment
• Warehouse environment with exposure to moving equipment, pallets, and varying temperatures.
• Requires adherence to established safety, housekeeping, and SOP guidelines.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
Wage: $17.00 per hour
