The Opportunity
StaffRight Associates is sourcing for a premier defense technology partner to identify an experienced software engineer to drive the continuous enhancement and modernization of mission-critical frameworks supporting defense and intelligence initiatives. This role offers the chance to deliver high-impact, national security solutions within an employee-owned enterprise environment. Serving as a key technical contributor, you will shape baseline software architectures, refine delivery mechanisms, and collaborate across multi-site teams to ensure high-performance operational readiness. StaffRight Associates is managing all talent acquisition activities for this strategic, full-time search in the Sarasota, Florida region, which includes full relocation assistance for candidates nationwide.
What You’ll Do
Architect, enhance, and modernize core software baselines deployed across intelligence networks.
Construct and manage automated CI/CD deployment pipelines to ensure repeatable, secure software delivery.
Optimize system performance, architectural stability, and operational efficiency while minimizing disruption to ongoing defense missions.
Partner with cross-functional engineering units to establish technical roadmaps and mentor junior developers.
Engineer, execute, and validate custom signal architecture components against stringent technical specifications.
What You Bring
Active Top Secret Clearance required (TS/SCI Clearance preferred).
7 years of specialized engineering experience with X-Midas Application Development.
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Advanced programming expertise in C and Python (additional programming languages preferred).
Proven background building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade software within Linux Operating Systems / Unix Operating Systems (such as Rocky Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
Proficiency in version control using Git and delivery within Agile Frameworks.
Strong foundational knowledge or experience in Digital Signal Processing, Signal Detection, Spectrum Monitoring, Geolocation, DevOps Practices, Shell Scripting, Automation, Software Testing, Debugging, and Performance Tuning.
Practical application of Security Best Practices and Compliance Standards within classified government operational environments.
Compensation & Total Rewards
Base Salary Range: $140,000 – $200,000 annually.
