What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead AI Engineer | Greenfield Ventures position at StaffRight Associates, LLC?
The Opportunity
StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a technology-driven financial institution to scale an elite, greenfield Artificial Intelligence engineering initiative. We are bypassing superficial AI implementations to architect custom autonomous agents, production-grade intelligent systems, and transformative internal toolkits that radically optimize core business operations.
As a foundational AI Systems Engineer, you will spearhead zero-to-one engineering challenges, collaborating directly with quantitative trading desks, analytical units, and operational teams. This is a high-visibility, hands-on deployment role where you will possess the autonomy to select cutting-edge tools and establish the firm’s long-term AI framework. If you want to move past proofs-of-concept and build high-compute, secure AI systems with immediate organizational impact, this ecosystem provides the computational resources, massive datasets, and elite talent necessary to accelerate your career.
What You’ll Do
Discover high-impact operational bottlenecks across diverse business units—ranging from quantitative trading desks requiring rapid signal extraction to compliance teams managing complex data reviews—by embedded analysis of their workflows.
Architect and deploy autonomous AI agents and enterprise-grade applications from initial concept through full production lifecycles, ensuring deep integration with existing high-performance data infrastructure.
Synthesize emerging model architectures, agentic frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) paradigms into scalable, reusable software components that elevate the firm’s overarching engineering capabilities.
Champion rigorous system design principles to ensure all newly developed intelligent systems conform to strict enterprise security parameters, low-latency execution requirements, and live data streaming workflows.
Drive end-to-end project ownership, translating ambiguous business challenges into high-performance, deterministic technical solutions without relying on pre-existing roadmaps.
What You Bring
Core Software Engineering Foundation: Mastery of robust system design, clean coding practices, and scalable deployments, preferably utilizing Python, cloud infrastructure, and modern data pipelines.
Proven AI Deployment Track Record: Documented experience designing, scaling, and maintaining production-level GenAI, LLM, or agentic applications that users rely on daily.
Deep Advanced AI Domain Expertise: Comprehensive technical understanding of LLM capabilities and failure modes, vector databases, prompt engineering, MLOps, and the orchestration of complex agent frameworks.
Cross-Functional Adaptability: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to fluidly context-switch between deeply technical quantitative developers and non-technical business stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial Execution: A history of thriving in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments such as tech startups, R&D labs, or core innovation groups.
Academic Pedigree: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, backed by a strong professional or academic track record. (Open to exceptional talent across the experience spectrum, from 2 to 15 years).
