PMHNP Requirements

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health
• Current licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment setting
• Strong clinical skills in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion

PMHNP Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for clients within 48 hours of admission
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Provide follow-up care and medication management
• Lead twice-monthly therapy groups
• Participate in quarterly leadership meetings and weekly triage meetings
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver holistic care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in psychiatric and substance abuse care
