Job Description: Lead Bartender & Shift Supervisor

We're looking for a friendly, professional, and experienced Lead Bartender & Shift Supervisor to join our small, family-owned restaurant. This is a unique, hands-on role perfect for someone who loves the craft of bartending but also has strong leadership skills. You'll be the face of our bar, crafting excellent cocktails and ensuring our guests have a fantastic experience. You will also be in charge of leading the front-of-house team and making sure every shift runs smoothly.  We have a small tight knit team, so it tends to run itself.

Key Responsibilities

• Bartending Excellence:

  • Craft and serve a full menu of cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar.

  • Create and suggest new drink specials based on seasonal ingredients.

  • Engage with guests, provide recommendations, and handle any issues with a positive attitude.

  • Ensure all food and beverage health and safety standards are followed.

• Shift Supervision:

  • Oversee daily operations for our small team (usually 1-2 servers, 1 cashier and 2 cooks) during assigned shifts.

  • Manage the shift, including opening and closing duties, and handle any guest or staff issues that arise.

  • Support and guide staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.

  • Assist with staff training and development as needed.

  • Communicate with the General Manager on a per shift basis to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• 6 months of professional bartending experience desired, preferably in a full-service restaurant.

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting.

• Excellent knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, beer, and wine.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. We are closed Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
