Senior .NET Engineering Lead / Software Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Engineering Lead / Software Architect to help lead the modernization and continued development of a large-scale enterprise software platform.

This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity for someone who combines deep C#/.NET development and architecture experience with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop software engineers. You will play a key role in modernizing legacy .NET applications, defining microservices architecture, improving engineering practices, and delivering scalable cloud-based solutions.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers throughout the full SDLC.
• Design and develop scalable enterprise applications, APIs, services, and database solutions.
• Lead the modernization of legacy .NET Framework applications to .NET 8/10 while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Define and enforce microservices architecture and development standards across a distributed environment of 140 services.
• Design REST APIs, API gateway strategies, and inter-service communication patterns.
• Architect event-driven and message-based solutions using technologies such as MassTransit and AWS SQS.
• Evaluate and oversee integrations with third-party platforms, carrier APIs, payment processors, and other external systems.
• Partner with Product, UX, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Create and document application and solution architectures with scalability, maintainability, security, and performance in mind.
• Conduct code and architecture reviews and ensure engineering standards are followed.
• Oversee application deployments and provide leadership for production support.
• Improve development practices, processes, tooling, and overall engineering quality.
• Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, platforms, and development tools.
• Manage project execution, remove technical blockers, and ensure engineering commitments are delivered on schedule.
• Mentor engineers, provide performance feedback, and support their professional development.

What We're Looking For

• 7 years of software development experience building and supporting enterprise applications.
• Advanced experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and modern .NET development.
• Strong experience designing and maintaining microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience modernizing applications from legacy .NET Framework to modern .NET/.NET Core.
• Experience with event-driven and message-driven architectures.
• Hands-on knowledge of MassTransit, AWS SQS, Saga orchestration, or similar messaging technologies.
• Strong AWS experience, including technologies such as SQS and Lambda.
• Experience designing REST APIs, middleware, and API gateway architectures.
• Understanding of modern ASP.NET Core patterns, including FastEndpoints or similar frameworks.
• Experience implementing observability across distributed applications using structured logging, Serilog, APM, and distributed tracing.
• Strong relational database design, SQL, and performance optimization experience.
• Familiarity with React or Angular and the ability to collaborate effectively with frontend engineers.
• Strong software architecture, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience leading and mentoring software developers.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience and relevant technical certifications will also be considered.

Pay: $155,000.00 - $157,000.00 per year
