Job Summary:
Tech Exploratory is a new program we are looking to offer in the 2026-2027 school year at Stafford Technical Center, geared towards sophomores in our region. The goal of the program is to help students explore multiple career pathways by developing project-based learning modules that incorporate learning about multiple career opportunities with academics in a hands-on manner.
This role directly supports Stafford Technical Center’s efforts to meet and exceed Perkins V performance indicators, including:
- 1S1 4-Year Graduation Rate
- 1S2 Extended Graduation Rate
- 2S1 English Language Arts Proficiency
- 2S2 Mathematics Proficiency
- 2S3 Science Proficiency
- 4S1 Non-Traditional Program Concentration
- Develop, implement, and refine program curriculum and scope-and-sequence aligned with relevant standards and goals, including unit plans, instructional plans, and assessment strategies consistent with state-approved curriculum.
- Plan and deliver engaging instructional activities and lesson plans that facilitate student learning and skill development.
- Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for all lessons and instructional activities.
- Provide a variety of instructional materials, learning resources, and hands-on opportunities that support student learning and engagement.
- Differentiate instruction, learning processes, assessments, and products to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Use technology effectively to support instruction, enhance student learning, and maintain required student records and documentation.
- Instruct and monitor students in the proper use of learning materials, equipment, and technology.
- Demonstrate and model methods required to complete assignments and develop technical or academic skills safely and accurately.
- Provide instruction that reflects current industry standards and academic expectations, preparing students for success in further education and career pathways.
- Maintain instructional equipment and laboratory or classroom resources in accordance with appropriate procedures, OSHA compliance, and other applicable professional standards.
- Educate students on and enforce compliance with all safety, health, and operational procedures.
- Monitor student activities to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Prepare instructional materials and maintain required records including grades, attendance, and anecdotal documentation of student progress.
- Remain current with emerging instructional practices, technologies, and industry standards, incorporating improvements into curriculum and instruction.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with the **Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Follow established district and school procedures related to safety, health, and professional conduct.
- Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and responsibility, including appropriate communication regarding absences and coverage needs.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism including integrity, dependability, and ethical conduct.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required.
- Vermont teaching license required or ability to obtain with one of the following 7–12 endorsements:
- Science
- Mathematics
- English
- Social Studies
- Minimum of 4–5 years of teaching experience at the high school level preferred.
- Experience designing and implementing project-based learning opportunities strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, a variety of instructional tools, technologies, and software used to expose students to diverse programs and career pathways.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to create meaningful learning opportunities.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructional materials, policies, and related job information.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction and learning experiences to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Strong classroom management and student supervision skills that promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative learning opportunities for students.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional growth.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and move throughout the facility as required to perform job duties.
- Ability to sit, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions related to teaching tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families in person and through various communication methods.
