Job Overview
Stafford Home Furniture is a locally owned furniture store in Albany. We're hiring a sales consultant to help customers on the showroom floor, write up orders, and follow through with customers through delivery and after.
Duties
- Greet customers and help them find the right pieces for their space, style, and budget
- Demonstrate product features, highlighting design elements, comfort, and functionality
- Learn our product lines and speak confidently to construction, materials, and warranties
- Write up sales, process financing applications, and schedule deliveries
- Follow up with customers on quotes, special orders, and delivery status
Requirements
- Friendly, patient, and good at listening
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Open to feedback and quick to pick up new products and processes
- Retail or sales experience (furniture, appliances, mattresses, or similar is a plus, not required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to help receive deliveries and move furniture using a dolly and team lifting
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Schedule
Tuesday - Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-5. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Must be available to work some Monday holidays (e.g., Memorial Day, Labor Day).
Pay
$14 per hour plus commission, based on experience. Associates who consistently hit sales goals have the option to move to a commission-based pay plan.
