What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fork Lift Reach Operator position at Staffmark?

Location: Joliet, IL
Pay Rate: $19.50 – $20.50 per hour
Schedules: 1st Shift, 6 AM – 2:30 PM OR 2nd Shift, 3 PM – 11:30 PM (OT as needed)
Job Duties:
- Operate reach trucks to transport materials throughout the facility
- Move raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies between production and storage areas
- Retrieve, stage, and place materials on racks for production and inventory purposes
- Assist with loading and unloading pallets, trailers, and trucks
- Complete inventory tracking and material movement transactions using scanning systems
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues promptly
- Use battery-operated hand tools as needed
- Maintain clean, organized staging, storage, and warehouse areas
- Follow all safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Support warehouse and production operations with additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience operating reach trucks required
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
- Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to operate forklifts for extended periods throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining productivity and quality
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
