Our client, a well-established company in the food and beverage industry, is looking to hire a full-time Accounting Manager who is fluent in Japanese.
This role is focused on day-to-day accounting operations management and ensuring accounting functions run smoothly and efficiently. The position is hands-on and requires someone who can take ownership of accounting processes, maintain accuracy, and support operational excellence.

The company is open to candidates with Assistant Manager or Senior Supervisor-level experience who are motivated to grow into an Accounting Manager role. High-level Accounting Manager experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting activities
- Coordinate with outsourced accounting service providers responsible for front-end accounting functions
- Manage and monitor accounting processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Review accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial records for accuracy
- Manage month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare and submit monthly financial reports and accounting updates to overseas headquarters
- Coordinate with overseas headquarters regarding accounting matters, reporting requirements, and financial inquiries
- Maintain proper accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders during audits and tax filings
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support business operations
Qualifications
- 5 years of hands-on accounting experience
- Accounting experience within the food and beverage industry is required
- Japanese/English bilingual ability is required; conversational-level proficiency is acceptable
- Experience at the Senior Accountant level or above is preferred
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, including general ledger (GL) management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proven experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Experience with ERP systems and financial accounting software
- Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced level), including financial analysis and reporting functions
- Strong computer skills and IT literacy, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new accounting systems and business software
- Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills
