- 2 years of experience working in a shop environment
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong math and measuring skills, including basic trigonometry
- Knowledge of welding and metal forming processes preferred
- Ability to lift materials and work in a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, frameworks, shells, and sheet metal components according to blueprints, work orders, and verbal instructions
- Develop layouts and plan fabrication sequences using knowledge of metal properties, welding shrinkage, stock allowances, and basic trigonometry
- Measure, locate, and mark bending and cutting lines on materials
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment including welders, press brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses
- Design and build templates, jigs, and fixtures to support fabrication processes
- Inspect finished workpieces and verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as squares, rulers, and tape measures
- Operate shop equipment including radial drill presses, lathes, CNC machines, and punch presses as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
