Staff Management Group is seeking a Machine Operator for our client in Hillside, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.
Schedule:
- 2nd Shift: 2PM - 10:30PM
- 3rd Shift 10PM - 6:30AM
- Monday - Friday
- Plus Overtime
Pay Rate:
- $22 / hour (Depending on the experience)
Job Summary:
As a Machine Operator, you’ll be responsible for running and maintaining KHS, SMI, and Douglas packaging equipment to ensure efficient production. This role plays a key part in keeping operations on track by handling equipment issues, upholding quality standards, and maintaining a safe work environment. Job Responsibilities:
- Run and oversee designated production equipment to support steady workflow.
- Safely handle machine startups, shutdowns, and product changeovers.
- Track equipment performance and make adjustments to improve efficiency, output, and quality.
- Detect mechanical issues and report them quickly to a Supervisor or Mechanic.
- Keep machinery clean and maintain a safe workspace at all times.
- Ensure accurate and readable coding on bottles, cases, and pallets throughout each shift.
- Carry out sanitation tasks such as CIP, external foaming, and disinfecting procedures.
- Consistently meet all product quality standards and customer requirements.
- Lift up to 25 lbs and complete physical duties as assigned.
- Accurately complete logs, quality checks, and production documentation.
- Communicate clearly, especially during shift transitions, to maintain smooth operations.
- Adhere to GMPs, food safety practices, and all company safety policies.
- Immediately report any critical quality or food safety concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Step in for other Machine Operators during time off or extended absences (overtime may be required).
Job Requirements:
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- Basic mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team
- Consistent adherence to safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Willingness to work different shifts as needed
