Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Forklift Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of Raymond forklifts, including sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while maintaining strong communication with internal teams and external technicians. This role requires a hands-on professional who can troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and contribute to a safe and productive work environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues
- Repair components such as power plugs, cables, wheels, handles, backrests, and forks
- Test malfunctioning machinery and controllers to determine root causes of issues
- Communicate and collaborate with Raymond technicians, operators, and management
- Maintain and manage parts inventory
- Accurately document repairs and maintain organized service logs
- Identify and report equipment damage and safety concerns promptly
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
- Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical or equipment repair experience (forklift experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA guidelines
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with electrical systems and powertrain components
- Experience with door and lock repair
