About the Role
The Director of Operations will oversee all critical facility performance across several data center campuses, ensuring uptime, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This is a high-visibility leadership role working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, sustainability, construction, and executive operations.
Ideal candidates bring deep experience in mission-critical environments, a passion for operational excellence, and the ability to lead high-performing teams in fast-moving, high-availability settings.
What You’ll Lead
- Full operational ownership across multiple data center sites, ensuring maximum reliability and continuity
- Leadership and mentorship for operations managers, facility leaders, and critical technicians
- Execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems
- Development and refinement of standardized operational policies, KPIs, and best practices
- Partnership with engineering & construction teams to support capacity expansion and new build-outs
- Compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements, including sustainability goals
- Oversight of incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs
- Management of operational budgets, capital projects, and vendor performance
- Cultivation of a customer-first mindset across the operations team
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field (Master’s a plus)
- 10 years of experience in mission-critical or data center operations
- 5 years successfully leading multi-site teams
- Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, and controls systems (MEP)
- Proven record overseeing large-scale operations, capital planning, and vendor management
- Ability to drive high performance while fostering a culture centered on safety, inclusion, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
