Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Test Engineer to design, develop, and support manufacturing test systems for production. The ideal candidate will work closely with design, quality, and production teams to improve product quality, increase manufacturing efficiency, and reduce test failures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing test procedures and test equipment.
- Design automated and manual test systems for production lines.
- Troubleshoot test failures and identify root causes.
- Analyze test data and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with design, process, and quality engineers to improve product manufacturability and testability.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by creating production test plans and documentation.
- Calibrate and maintain test equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Optimize test cycle times and improve production throughput.
- Create and maintain work instructions, test specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
- Train production technicians on test procedures and equipment operation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, production testing, or electronics testing (experience requirements may vary by role).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and data acquisition systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and process improvement techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, LabVIEW, C#, or MATLAB).
- Knowledge of PLCs, embedded systems, or industrial automation.
- Experience with MES, ERP, and production databases.
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and other electronic test instruments.
- Understanding of GD&T, DFM, DFT, and reliability testing.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO 9001.
