What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boomi Admin position at Staffing Science?
Senior Boomi Platform Administrator (Hybrid)
Location: Hybrid (monthly onsite, subject to change)
Employment Type: Full-time
Citizenship Requirement: US Citizen or Green Card holder
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Boomi Platform Administrator to take ownership of a newly implemented Boomi environment and serve as the first in-house Boomi expert. This is a high-visibility, highly urgent role where you will step in immediately after a recent third-party implementation and assume responsibility for stabilizing, operating, and scaling the platform long term.
This role is not for a Boomi developer who spends most of their time writing integrations. We are specifically looking for a Boomi administrator first — someone who excels at operating, maintaining, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting the platform, with only light integration development as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage Boomi environments including Atoms, Molecules, and Clouds
- Own platform maintenance, patching, upgrades, and environment health
- Monitor integrations, troubleshoot failures, and ensure operational stability
- Install, configure, and optimize Boomi products and supporting components
- Serve as the primary point of ownership for Boomi governance, standards, and best practices
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation
- Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support integrations across the enterprise
- Take over ownership from a recent systems integrator and build internal Boomi expertise
Critical Context (Important)
- Boomi was implemented very recently by a third-party firm
- There is no existing internal Boomi expertise
- This role carries immediate responsibility, visibility, and influence
- The right hire will shape how Boomi is operated, governed, and scaled moving forward
What This Role Is NOT
- Not a heavy integration development role
- Not focused on designing or building complex integrations full-time
- Not for candidates whose background is primarily software engineering
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Boomi administrator first, with the ability to handle light integration work when necessary
- 5 years of hands-on Boomi experience preferred
- (3–4 years may be considered at a lower level/compensation)
- Experience administering multiple Boomi products (matching enterprise implementations)
- Strong operational mindset: stability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and governance
- Boomi certifications strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and soft skills — this role interacts with many teams
Technical Environment
- Hybrid Boomi environment (on-prem Azure)
- Experience with containerized or OpenShift environments is a plus
- Identity & access landscape:
- Ping/Entra ID / Azure AD
- Familiarity with certificate management and secure integrations
Why This Role Is Compelling
- First Boomi hire — own the platform end-to-end
- Significant influence on architecture, standards, and long-term strategy
- High business impact and strong long-term growth potential
- Opportunity to build internal capability from the ground up
