This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience repairing and maintaining excavators, lifts, forklifts, loaders, CAT machinery, and other heavy equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on diesel-powered equipment
- Work on excavators, loaders, forklifts, aerial lifts, CAT machines, trucks, and trailers
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and brake systems
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime
- Perform welding, fabrication, and minor repairs when needed
- Maintain service records and communicate repair needs with management
- Ensure equipment remains compliant with safety and operating standards
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Fleet Technician
- Strong knowledge of CAT machinery and construction/recycling equipment
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced yard/shop environment
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- CDL is a plus but not required
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and dependable
