A growing manufacturing organization in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Project Manager to oversee custom equipment orders from initiation through delivery and final payment. This role offers a competitive salary of $90,000–$125,000, depending on experience, and is ideal for someone who enjoys managing timelines, driving accountability, and ensuring customer expectations are met.
This is a highly visible role responsible for coordinating across multiple departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The ideal Project Manager is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable leading communication between internal teams and external customers.
This is an in-person, on-site role in the Northtowns of Western New York.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage all phases of projects from order through delivery and closeout
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment across teams and stakeholders
- Lead regular project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and updates
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track
- Initiate milestone billing and support financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance
- Maintain project trackers, open issues logs, and reporting documentation
- Support contract review, order acceptance, and project kickoff processes
- Drive project closeout activities and lead lessons learned discussions
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to project execution and processes
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to schedule, cost, and delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
- 5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience managing build-to-order or engineered equipment projects strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and financial tracking
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment documentation
- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
