StaffBright is partnering with a long-time client to help identify their next International Trade & Customs Manager. In today's economy, this is an essential competency for the company to invest in as they navigate international relations and trade. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience with customs compliance, specializing in North American trade, and a background in automotive manufacturing.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal customs compliance controls for U.S. operations and support Mexico in alignment with trade regulations
- Analyze bills of material to determine HTSUS classifications, country of origin, and ensure timely USMCA qualification and issuance of compliant certificates of origin
- Collaborate with internal departments and third-party partners to ensure accurate documentation, efficient duty/tax strategies, and adherence to customs procedures
- Train and align with the Mexico customs team, providing guidance on compliance standards and best practices
- Maintain customs records, respond to broker/customer documentation requests, and oversee trade compliance activities with minimal oversight
What We Need From You
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or similar discipline
- 4 years of experience in customs compliance, focusing on North American trade (Mexico & USA)
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in SAP
- Ability to travel as needed

- Experience working within the automotive industry
- U.S. Licensed Customs Brokers
- In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and U.S. Customs requirements
- Experience issuing compliant certificates of origin and performing complex country of origin analysis
- Proven ability to develop and maintain internal control frameworks across international operations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and partners
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to train and align with cross-border teams
