Associate Scientist – In Situ Biology (Contract)

Pay Range: $36/hr - $42/hr (w2)
Role Summary
The In Situ Biology team is seeking a motivated Associate Scientist (Contract) to support spatial biology experiments focused on identifying and understanding targets for antibody-based therapeutics. This role is ideal for a hands-on laboratory professional with a strong foundation in histology and histopathology techniques who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced research environment.
The successful candidate will assist multiple investigators across diverse projects and contribute to high-quality histological workflows supporting discovery research.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biological samples for downstream histological analysis.
- Perform routine histology laboratory maintenance and organization.
- Conduct immunohistochemistry (IHC) experiments using automated staining platforms (autostainers).
- Maintain, catalog, and manage a biospecimen repository.
- Accurately document experiments and sample data using a LIMS system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional research teams to support ongoing projects.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of hands-on laboratory experience.
- BS or BA in a biological or life sciences discipline.
- Practical experience with histopathology techniques (processing, embedding, staining).
- Microtomy/sectioning experience preferred; strong preference for candidates with Histology Technician (HT) background.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
- Quick learner with enthusiasm for acquiring new techniques and technologies.
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a proactive, positive attitude.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional research environment.
