JOB TITLE: Scientist III
LOCATION: Minnesota (Remote)
CONTRACT LENGTH: 3 months

PAY RATE: $60–$69/hr (W2)
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Temporary Scientist III will perform routine and complex analytical testing to support drug substance and drug product development. The role involves hands-on work with analytical instrumentation including HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, UV-Vis, FT-IR, and dissolution systems. The scientist will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Agilent LC and MS instruments using Agilent OpenLab and Empower software. Responsibilities also include method optimization, accurate sample analysis of raw materials, intermediates, drug substance, and finished products in accordance with established methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform analytical experiments supporting drug substance and drug product development, as well as release testing of finished products.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Agilent LC/MS and related analytical equipment.
- Analyze and interpret data using statistical principles and quality control criteria.
- Optimize and qualify LC methods when required.
- Document experimental work in Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) following company procedures and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Ensure a strong commitment to laboratory safety and adherence to best practices.
- Coordinate with service engineers and facilities teams for instrument maintenance as needed.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, with emphasis in analytical chemistry.
- 1–5 years of analytical chromatography experience in the pharmaceutical industry (HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS required).
- Experience developing and qualifying LC methods using Agilent instrumentation preferred.
- Strong hands-on technical skills and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and contribute within a team setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to new challenges.
