Staff Source is seeking reliable and hardworking General Labor candidates for a client in Gary, IN. In this General Labor position, you will be responsible for performing physical labor tasks associated with the loading, unloading, and handling of materials, equipment including limestone products. This is intended to be a temporary position but may have potential to be hired permanently. This position follows a rotating schedule Monday-Friday with overtime, weekends and holidays as needed so all candidates interested in the General Labor position must have open availability. Responsibilities:• Perform general labor, maintenance and cleaning duties, such as sweeping and shoveling limestone around conveyors• Load and unload materials including limestone• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures when handling materials• Monitor and inspect the quality of limestone and other materials used in the production process• Maintain a clean and organized work environment• Follow directions from supervisors to carry out manual labor tasks• Report issues and/or safety concerns to supervisors immediately• Assist with other duties as assigned Qualifications:• Must Pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness required• Capability to work independently and as part of a team• Must be able to work in a dirty outdoors environment with exposure to hot and cold temperatures• Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment• Ability to stand, bend, climb, crouch and kneel for long periods of time• Must wear all required PPE at all times, including but not limited to: steel toe boots, long sleeves and a N95 mask• Previous experience in a labor position is a plus• Must be able to work a rotating scheduleCompany DescriptionStaff Source is a Staffing agency that places individuals on a Temporary, Temp to Hire, and Direct Hire basis in industrial and manufacturing settings.
