What are the responsibilities and job description for the FACILITIES ATTENDANT - 3RD SHIFT position at Staff and Faculty?
Job Summary:
Perform a variety of custodial and housekeeping duties involving the care, cleaning and stocking of supplies in campus buildings, offices and residential areas, and assist in ensuring proper cleaning procedures are followed and the quality and quantity of work is within standards. Assist with snow and ice removal, as needed. This position is considered to be essential during emergency situations and the incumbent is subject to being requested to report to work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain assigned areas and special events.
- Assist with snow and ice removal at entryways of buildings, as needed.
- Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors.
- Report items requiring service or repair via the work order system; assist with opening buildings for daily use and provide bio-hazard clean-ups, as needed.
- Ensure completion of work assignments and projects; report discrepancies to the Assistant Supervisor.
- Ensure that cleaning and other supplies/equipment are maintained and utilized in accordance with state and federal safety standards.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment used for transportation, maintenance, lifting, and refinishing.
- Attend department and meetings and training sessions; and develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the campus community.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years previous custodial experience; ability to use and in-depth knowledge of, various cleaning agents, equipment and supplies; good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully with members of the campus community; ability to lift and carry 40 lbs and climb a 6-ft. ladder. Possession of a NYS Driver's license is preferred.
This position is 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
