They must communicate effectively, demonstrate leadership, exhibit professional integrity and ethics, take initiative, value personal and professional development, and show that they will engage in the college.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted physical therapy license in any U.S. jurisdiction and Physical therapy licensure in New York State by appointment date
  • Terminal degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) in related field (degree completion is preferred at the time of appointment; however, ABD candidates with significant progress are encouraged to apply) OR completion of an ABPTRFE-accredited non-clinical residency program.
  • Commitment to excellence in physical therapy education
  • Evidence of scholarly promise with a developed or emerging research agenda

Preferred Qualifications

While we welcome applicants with expertise across all areas of clinical practice, preference will be given to candidates who are prepared to teach coursework related to musculoskeletal/orthopedics and/or evidence-based practice. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have the following qualifications: at least 3 years of clinical experience, possession of ABPTS Board certification, teaching experience in academic or residency/fellowship settings, and/or a history of scholarly publications/presentations.

About the Department of Physical Therapy
