What are the responsibilities and job description for the ART MODEL position at Staff and Faculty?
Job Summary:
Offers live modeling for portraiture, quick and varied gestures and sustained poses in the nude or clothed for art classes.
Supervision:
The position reports to the Art Coordinator and will receive direction from Art Department faculty and Chairs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Arrives on time, clean and well prepared.
- Interacts respectfully and professionally with students, faculty and staff.
- Poses in the nude for drawings and paintings by art classes.
- Receives basic instruction on positioning such as standing, seated, prone, etc.
- Performs varied, expressive, dynamic and engaging gestures or quick poses for up to three minutes with little to no instruction.
- Maintains quality precise positions over long periods of time; minimizes unintended movements. Returns to precise position after breaks.
- Performs related work, such as NYS required yearly training, as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Stamina and experience with proprioception, body control and muscle memory via training in movement, dance, sports or other is required. Previous experience modeling is helpful but not necessary.
Work Environment:
Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment.
