Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. As a Fiber Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables and telecommunication systems.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain fiber optic cables and related equipment
- Perform testing and troubleshooting on fiber optic systems using tools such as voltmeters and OTDRs
- Handle splicing, terminating, and routing of fiber optic cables
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure successful project completion
- Provide technical support to customers regarding fiber optic services
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installations and maintenance tasks
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge for handling tools and equipment
- Proficiency in using hand tools specific to fiber optic work
- Experience as a service technician or in a related field service role
- Knowledge of cabling standards for telephone, Ethernet, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with low voltage systems
- Ability to work in the field independently or as part of a team

Pay: $29.00 - $36.00 per hour
