Responsibilities:
As a Medical Records/Central Supply professional, your key responsibilities will include:
Medical Record:
Review medical records quarterly or as needed
Establish procedures for collecting, inspecting, completing, and filing medical records
Inspect forms used in the facility for legality and recommend changes as needed
Advise on federal and state laws concerning medical records
Submit reports to the Administrator and provide guidance to facility personnel
Central Supply:
Establish communication with center nursing staff to ensure adequate supplies are obtained and available
Maintain adequate inventory of nursing supplies
Ensure supply room areas meet Life Safety Codes
Communicate supply and equipment charges to the Finance Department
Maintain monthly budget control forms and purchasing procedures
Ensure vendors provide necessary material safety data sheets (MSDS) and notify finance of charges
Organize storage, issue, and delivery of supplies and equipment
Additional Responsibilities:
Attend and participate in orientation, training, in-service education, and staff meetings
Ensure mandatory training is completed on time
Perform other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the healthcare center
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required
1 year of experience in medical records, central supply, or a related field
Strong understanding of federal and state laws concerning medical records
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
