Primarily, this role will involve working at the ~20 professional soccer matches per year that take place at Fitzpatrick Stadium from mid-April through mid-November, usually on Saturdays and Sundays. We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our Retail Event Staff at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland. This part-time role is crucial for enhancing the fan experience by managing all aspects of merchandise operations on game days, from pre-game setup to selling merchandise to post-game breakdown.
You will consistently provide best-in-class customer service to Hearts of Pine fans. You will be an expert in what it means to be a part of the Hearts of Pine team and part of the greater Maine community by sharing your knowledge about the team and our products- educating, informing, and inspiring. You will offer information to the customer as needed, and execute operational processes effectively and efficiently. Your goal is to be fan-first to help make sure stadium attendees get what they need and have an unforgettable experience at Hearts of Pine matches!
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Transactions: Accurately complete sales transactions, including processing credit card payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system (Shopify experience is a plus).
- Customer Service: Greet fans warmly, answer product-related questions, and assist customers in finding and selecting merchandise.
- Merchandise Management: Assist with the physical setup and breakdown of the merchandise sales area before and after home games.
- Presentation: Ensure the sales area is kept clean, well-organized, and visually appealing throughout the event.
- Fan Experience: Provide a positive and energetic fan experience while promoting products and sales.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Customer Service: Demonstrated strong customer service skills (enthusiastic, proactive, and team-oriented), with the ability to engage with fans effectively.
- Retail Experience: Previous experience in a retail or sales environment is highly valued.
- POS Systems: Experience with sales transactions and operating a Point of Sale system (Shopify preferred).
- Reliability: Proven track record of punctuality and reliability, especially for time-sensitive game day roles.
- Teamwork: A cooperative, team-oriented approach to working with fellow staff, with an ability to communicate and problem-solve effectively.
- Must be able to walk and stand for up to 4 consecutive hours, in an outdoor environment, rain or shine.
- Work nights/weekends as necessary, especially on the dates of the club’s home games
- Must have reliable transportation to/from Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland, Maine.
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
