About Stackhouse Management

Stackhouse Management is a premier property management company overseeing 88 manufactured housing communities across 10 states, with more than 8,200 home sites and 6,700 residents. Think of our communities like small subdivisions — and our Maintenance Technicians like the public works crew that keeps everything running beneath the surface. We maintain the water lines, sewer systems, wastewater facilities, and infrastructure that residents depend on every day.

Position Summary

You’ll be the boots on the ground keeping our Cambridge and Preston communities’ infrastructure running. This role is focused on water and sewer systems, wastewater treatment, septic tanks, water wells, and heavy equipment operation — the kind of work that keeps a community functioning. If you’ve got a background in utilities, public works, or water/wastewater systems and want a stable, predictable schedule with room to grow, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

Water & Sewer Systems

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair community water distribution lines and sewer collection systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve leaks, line breaks, clogs, and other water or sewer issues.
  • Assist with installation of new water and sewer lines as needed.
  • Monitor system pressure and flow, escalating issues before they become emergencies.

Wastewater & Septic

  • Operate and maintain community wastewater treatment plants and lift stations.
  • Service and inspect septic tanks, including pumping coordination and system checks.
  • Identify and address issues with drain fields and wastewater collection components.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records for regulatory compliance.

Water Wells & Supply

  • Monitor and maintain community water wells and associated pump systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and coordinate service or repairs as needed.
  • Ensure water supply systems meet operational and safety standards.

Equipment & Site Work

  • Operate skid steers, mini excavators, and other light equipment for trenching, grading, and site preparation.
  • Perform road and common area upkeep including patching potholes, clearing debris, and maintaining safe site conditions.
  • Maintain and safely store all company equipment and vehicles.
  • Respond to work orders promptly and complete maintenance logs accurately.

Qualifications

  • Experience in utilities, public works, water/wastewater operations, or a related field required.
  • Hands-on knowledge of water distribution, sewer systems, septic systems, or well systems preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate skid steers, mini excavators, and other light equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in the field.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and performing work that involves digging, kneeling, climbing, and extended outdoor activity.
  • Willingness to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
  • Water/wastewater operator certification a plus, but not required.

If you take pride in keeping critical systems running and want to do meaningful work in your own backyard, we want to hear from you. Apply today and come build something with us.
