THE POSITION
Staccato is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Assistant Controller to support financial operations across Staccato Ranch, Texas, and Staccato Vegas. This role will assist in managing accounting processes, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This role will assist in managing accounting processes, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain and oversee general ledger accounts, ensuring proper classification of revenues and expenses.
- Assist in developing and managing financial reports for leadership to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Assist in audits (internal & external) by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Maintain records and processes to ensure tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- Support the Controller in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements to enhance financial efficiency.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
- As needed, assist in payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Help implement and improve internal controls to strengthen financial processes.
- Maintain accurate records of fixed asset acquisitions, ensuring proper classification, valuation, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Track job/project costs to include maintaining labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs for construction work in progress accounts
- Support special projects and financial initiatives related to Staccato Ranch and Staccato Vegas.
In addition to general team member expectations, this role explicitly requires the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
