Stable Recovery is a long- term recovery housing organization with clinical outpatient services and equine-focused workforce development for adults seeking long-term recovery from substance use disorder. Our model combines safe and structured recovery housing, outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment services, peer and case management support, and hands-on workforce development through the thoroughbred industry.

Position Summary

Stable Recovery is seeking a part-time Therapist to support the clinical operations of our substance use disorder treatment program. This position is responsible for providing assessments, treatment planning, individual therapy, group therapy, family or collateral services when clinically appropriate, and timely clinical documentation.

The Therapist will work under the direction of the Clinical Director and collaborate with the treatment team to support client progress, recovery engagement, clinical stability, and long-term success.

This role is a strong fit for a clinician who is professional, documentation-focused, clinically sound, and comfortable working with adults in recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns.

Responsibilities

The Therapist will be responsible for:

• Conducting and documenting diagnostic assessments, biopsychosocial assessments, ASAM assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan updates, and discharge planning documentation within required timeframes.
• Providing individual, group, collateral, and family therapy services as clinically appropriate.
• Facilitating substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health treatment using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
• Developing individualized treatment goals, objectives, and interventions based on client needs, clinical assessments, ASAM criteria, and payer requirements.
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, clinical summaries, narrative reports, and documentation required by Medicaid/MCOs.
• Supporting the day-to-day clinical needs of assigned clients in coordination with the Clinical Director and treatment team.
• Participating in clinical staffing, supervision, case consultation, and therapist meetings as required.
• Collaborating with case management, peer support, program staff, outside providers, referral sources, and community partners to support continuity of care.
• Monitoring client progress, identifying barriers to treatment engagement, and adjusting interventions as clinically appropriate.
• Maintaining professional boundaries and complying with all ethical standards required by the clinician’s licensing board.
• Maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, Stable Recovery policy, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Meeting documentation and billable service expectations on a consistent basis based on schedule, caseload, and program needs.
• Assisting with clinical crisis response, safety planning, relapse intervention, and referrals to higher levels of care when clinically indicated.
• Participating in quality assurance, utilization review, and chart audit processes as needed.
• Maintaining active Kentucky licensure and remaining in good standing with the applicable licensing board.
• Performing other related duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or organizational leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, substance use counseling, or a related human services field from an accredited institution.
• Active Kentucky license or credential that allows the clinician to provide and bill for behavioral health and/or substance use disorder services under Kentucky Medicaid and MCO requirements.
• Eligible license types may include, but are not limited to: CSW, LCSW, LPCA, LPCC, LMFT, LPA, LPP, LCADC, LCADCA, CADC, or other Kentucky Medicaid-recognized behavioral health credentials.
• Associate-level clinicians must meet all supervision and billing requirements applicable to their license and payer rules.
• Experience providing therapy, assessment, and treatment planning for adults with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Strong clinical documentation skills and ability to complete records within required timelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and practice within the scope of license.
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet agency employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in outpatient, intensive outpatient, residential, recovery housing, or substance use treatment settings.
• Familiarity with ASAM criteria, Medicaid documentation standards, and MCO authorization/review expectations.
• Experience facilitating substance use disorder groups.
• Training or experience in CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, trauma-informed care, or other evidence-based treatment models.
• Experience using electronic health records.
• In-depth knowledge of the therapeutic community model and the ability to apply therapeutic community principles within a structured recovery housing environment.

Schedule

This is a part-time position averaging 30 hours per week Monday through Friday. The specific work schedule will be determined based on program needs, client scheduling, and clinical coverage.

Growth Opportunity

This position is being posted as a part-time role averaging 30 hours per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time position as clinical service needs expand. Stable Recovery is continuing to build its outpatient clinical services, and the right candidate may have the opportunity to increase hours and take on additional clinical responsibilities over time based on performance, licensure, program growth, and organizational need.

Compensation

Pay range is $27–$33 per hour, depending on licensure, experience, Medicaid/MCO billing eligibility, and overall fit for the role.
